Founded in 2001, the research lab of the business school ESG Management School (Research Lab) has grown considerably over the last years, reaching 40 members in 2010.
It is divided into three research Axis:
Knowledge, Practice, Institutions
Head: Sylvaine Castellano
Contemporary Consumer Behaviour
Head: Serge Guerin
Economic and Financial Performances
Head: Olivier Lamotte
The main goals of the research lab are:
- contributing to the progress of the knowledge about management and finance techniques
- enhancing the transfer of knowledge to the students (through the teaching), the companies (via reporting and seminars) and the teachers (by seminars, meetings, scientific articles and other publications)
- forcing up the international awareness level of ESG Management School
The research lab has a strong focus on interdepartmental cooperation, facilitated by the intimate structure of ESG Management School. The institutes have been created to make sure that the Management, responsible for creating the necessary incentive structures to ensure that certain research topics are given priority treatment, can facilitate profile building in research activities.
The theoretical research fields are mainly focused on:
- the assets of other disciplines and their contribution to the research done (social sciences, politic science, human science etc.)
- the building of prospective sustainable models
political analysis and its effect on Economy and Finance
ESG Management School research work has to respect two equally important conditions:
Utility for the companies
The scientific quality of the methods of investigation
ESG Management School' research work is done on the field, focused on real problems of companies which are analysed with classical theories and methods (modelling, historical data base research, case studies etc.).
The majority of our publications go hand in hand with the implementation of analytical and controlling tools, which guarantee the sustainable quality of the results.
According to its AACSB accreditation objective, ESG Management School is looking for permanent teachers who are clearly aware of AACSB accreditation procedures. In addition to the teaching, the person will be in charge of assisting the Dean through international accreditation. Various fields of teaching and research can be relevant.

Research Lab's research strategy is mainly focused on the selection of themes established by the three laboratories and the competences of the professor leading the research.
The high diversity of the research fields is due to the profile of the heads and members of each department. Some research activity is a result of the professors themselves, others are started in response to a real outside demand, either from companies' or else administrative staff.
The research activities result in regular publications, in scientific as well as professional journals and participation and communication at local and international conferences. The annual research journal, started in 2005, lists all these publications.
This research work can be theoretical as well as contribute actively to the development of tools to solve different problems in the field of finance, marketing, economy etc.
ESG Management School's research strategy is geared towards building structures that facilitate the diversification of ideas through interdepartmental cooperation, international linkages or joint projects with corporate partners.
